In this video, I spend the week at the Escapee’s Annual Escapade, their 60th one to be exact! The Sweetwater Events Complex in Rock Springs, Wyoming was the host this year for almost 1,000 RVers from around the country.
During this event, not only did I attend the Escapade, but I came in a few days early to attend the RVers Boot Camp. The RVers boot camp is a comprehensive, 3-day training that goes over every system in your RV, from electrical, plumbing, tires, propane, personal safety, and much, much more. In addition to the 3-day in-person course, you can also attend the RVers Online University as well. To get more info on the in-person Bootcamp, click here. Rock Spring, on its surface, doesn’t seem like it would have much to offer, but it is surrounded by fantastic homes, wonderful family-owned businesses, rodeos, and is home to the County Fair as well. Everyone was invited to stay for a few days after for the rodeo and the fair, however, I had to take off to be part of a TV commercial shoot… more on that later.
The Escapade was full of seminars, training, vendors, and live entertainment every night of the week, from panel discussions on boondocking to education seminars from vendors and other full-time Escapees, there was something for everyone.
Also in this video, we talk with the CEO of Harvest Host and the Escapade Directors on what it takes to put on a massive event like this. What do you think are some of the biggest challenges with creating an event like this? Leave your comments below, or on the video.
The 61st Escapade will take place in Lebanon, Tennessee, so mark that on your calendar and click here for more info.
